The Old Brighton Pier – Long Exposure

On Saturday we decided to have a short break from the goings on with doing up the new house by taking a trip to the south coast, the first stop was a place called West Wittering where we stayed for a few hours on the sandy beach and then off to Brighton for a quick walk along the seafront. I decided to have a go with my 10 stop filter and capture the old burnt out West Pier (you can view about its history here)
Unfortunately for those dead eyes among you I was unable to get a symmetrical shot as the left side of the pier is slightly longer than the right side resulting in a little off balanced shot
This image was a 20 second long exposure with very little post processing work within Photoshop.

Beneath the Pier

This is a shot taken beneath the pier in a place called Deal In Kent, I was lucky at the time of my visit that the tide was high and I could get a nice high shot from the stony beach front looking down through the pier supports.
I have used Silver Efex by Niksoft to process this image to add some extra contrast to show some added details with the waves of the sea.
I would like to return to the same location and this time do a long exposure and use some high key processing to give a really simplified image
